The Bay Link Project was a three-year project. Its aim was to improve safety by separating local traffic from the state highway and rail corridor and providing safer walking and cycling connections, as well as separating heavy freight vehicles from local traffic to help overall flow. This project completed the State Highway 2 Eastern Corridor for the Bay of Plenty.

Nauhria Reinforcing supplied 1300 ton of steel for the project including four eight-metre-long steel cages provided the steel structure for the four columns that form part of the bridge pier. They weighed around three-tonne each.

We organised to have these columns prefabricated in our Auckland yard, then delivered for night-time installation to minimise traffic management at a time where there were few cars on the road.
